Welcome to Top Track Music

This site is dedicated to the pursuit of success within the music market. The short-term goal of this project would be to license a song. This blog is devoted to measuring the trials and successes (or failures) of this endeavor.
Seven years ago I began work on a project to produce a marketable song. In the year two thousand I was attending school when I met a guy by the name of Jeff Fiddler. Jeff and I realized that we both knew Pittsburgh legend Walt Maddox. We also realized that we both had a love affair with music. Jeff being an accomplished musician and myself being a big fan that wanted to try and write a hit song. Jeff introduced me to Nick Kucel owner and operator of Innertube Studio in Ambridge.
There is where I began my quest for a marketable song. You see I had been really good at predicting what new bands would become famous. Of course this was just myself telling my friends but, never the less, it made me confident that I had a good ear. I began writing, at first with Nick and Jeff.
We recorded two songs Black Cadillac and Pittsburgh Pride. I thought that if I wrote a hometown tune that it would be a great success. After sending it to a few people, I got the understanding that there were holes in the songs. This is meaning to say they where not constructed in the right way. You see Jeff and Nick let me record it just the way I asked. The thing is I’m not a musician. I’m just a guy with a dream and a good ear.
I know that this is like trying to sail a boat when you don’t know how, but still I kept trying. After talking with Nick, he understood that my idea was to write the words and others would write the music. I never really thought that I had much talent in the voice department so I started working with people who wanted a chance to sing. They had the same love affair with music that I did plus the talent. At this time in my life I had a good job and plenty of money to invest in my dream. I asked Nick to help me build a studio (being that he is an electrical engineer). I told him that I only wanted to spend about fifteen hundred dollars. He put a home studio together in no time. It was made up of some new equipment and some old. Not one instrument cost more than a hundred dollars. I called it Scratch track Studio.
The studio was in my apartment located in Millvale, home of Mr. Smalls Studio. Over the next seven years I worked with ten different people. We produced many different sounds. Needless to say, we never stuck to one genre. In two thousand and seven it was time to let the world hear what we had produced. I chose twelve songs for the CD. I believe that at least one of these songs has a chance to be a marketable. I decided that I would let people download the songs at www.cdbaby.com for a small fee and let them be the judge.
Please understand that all the songs are copyrighted. You can download for a fee, but please do not try and publish or sell any of the material. Thank you for visiting Toptrackmusic.com we hope you enjoy the sounds.
